Atlanta Falcons

  • Conference: NFC
  • Division: South
  • Defense: 4-3

Team Needs

Team Needs:   OG   DT   CB   OLB   WR   DE   K
The Skinny: Atlanta is a borderline playoff team that could bolster its chances of competing in the NFC South with a talented frontline corner, or better yet a pair of top cover guys. Brent Grimes is more suited for nickel duties than locking down Marques Colston, Steve Smith and the like. The Falcons could also use some depth on both of their interior lines, and it wouldn't hurt them to start looking for Mike Peterson's replacement at LB. Mike Jenkins has limited upside as a #2 WR at this point in his career, so acquiring a pass catcher or two is not out of the realm of possibility, either.
4/15 update: The Falcons traded Chris Houston to the Lions, and signed Dunta Robinson to replace him, helping shore up one of their biggest areas of weakness. They could still use some quality depth at the position.

Mock Draft

1 -19. CB Joe Haden, Florida
The Skinny: Despite rebounding during Florida's Pro Day, Haden continues to slide in our latest mock draft. This is really not a knock on Haden; the players taken ahead of him seem to be better fits. Not so for the Falcons who were a dreadful 28th in the league against the pass in 2009 and could use the help.
