Team Needs

Team Needs:   DT   CB   OG   OT   WR   FS   K
The Skinny: This team will obviously be a contender as long as #18 is suiting up, but there is certainly room for upgrades throughout the roster. The DT situation has been unstable basically since Corey Simon went AWOL, and if I were Bill Polian I wouldn't be sleeping well at night knowing I was relying on Antonio Johnston, Daniel Muir and Co to penetrate opposing teams' backfields. The Colts drafted Fili Moala in the 2nd round last year, but he didn't see the field much and this spot is still in need of bolstering from where we sit. The corner situation is adequate, but Marlin Jackson has a long way to come back from injury, though Polian seems to have found something in rookie Jerraud Powers. Jeff Saturday can't play forever, and neither can Adam Vinatieri. Speaking of playing, is Bob Sanders going to do so any time soon? Great player, but with his knee issues he's on the verge of being written off forever. Melvin Bullitt has been a great replacement, but it's time to look for someone to complement Bullitt who can stay in the lineup.
4/15 Update: There will be some turnover on the Indy roster, but nothing too earth shattering. Gone are G Ryan Lilja, CB Marlin Jackson, CB Tim Jennings, S Aaron Francisco, WR Hank Baskett, and backup QB Jim Sorgi. Added are T Adam Terry, and G Andy Allerman.

Mock Draft

1 -31. DT Brian Price, UCLA
The Skinny: We previously had the Colts grabbing Price in the second round, but his stock is on the rise and it doesn't look like he'll make it that far. Tennesssee's Dan Williams could also be an option here. And when you have Petyon on your squad, you can never have enough quality receivers.

2 -31. OT Rodger Saffold, Indiana
The Skinny: Protecting Peyton Manning will always be a priority, and Roger Saffold could play multiple positions along the line, giving the Colts some versatility.
