Team Needs

Team Needs:   DT   DE   WR   OG   SS   OT   RB
The Skinny: Despite trading for Braylon Edwards, the Jets still don't have reliable playmaking options at the WR position. Edwards shows flashes and Jerricho Cotchery is steady, but the Jets could use a true stud to help Mark Sanchez develop. Sione Pouha has done an adequate job at the NT position since Kris Jenkins went out, but Jenkins has seen better days and the Jets would love to find a space eater in the draft. Thomas Jones will likely be released in the offseason to clear the way for Shonn Greene; and with Leon Washington coming off of a nasty leg break, it would be wise to add depth at the RB spot.
4/15 Update: The Jets are another team that had a busy offseason. They brought in a pair of former chargers in CB Antonio Cromartie and LaDanian Tomlinson. They lost Thomas Jones and traded away Kerry Rhodes. They also traded a 5th round pick for WR Santonio Holmes, though he only has 1 year left on his contract and will miss 4 games due to suspension.

Mock Draft

1 -29. DT Dan Williams, Tennessee
The Skinny: In our last mock draft we had the Jets scooping up receiver Golden Tate. With the acquisition of Santonio Holmes, receiver becomes less of a glaring need, even though Holmes will sit out the first four games. Defensive line has to be the focus here, and Tennessee's Dan Williams fits nicely as nose tackle.

2 -29. DE Corey Wootton, Northwestern
The Skinny: We've had Wooten going as high as the first round because he can end in either a 4-3 or a 3-4. The Jets need an end and take a shot at Wooten.
