Cam Newton's draft stock has been as volatile as the Dow Jones and experts are once again bullish on the Auburn signal caller.
In early March Newton was gaining momentum as the top overall pick. But it quickly dissipated in favor of Missouri quarterback Blaine Gabbert.
Now mock drafts are mock drafts, they should be viewed for what they are, entertainment. However, at least five prominent experts have once again slotted Newton #1 overall. Mel Kiper, Todd McShay (see video below), Rob Rang, Chad Rueter and WalterFootball all have Newton back on top, which I would view as significant. Even if I don't agree.
How long will it last? Who knows. Next week Von Miller could be the flavor of the week.
One thing is for certain, the #1 overall pick is as wide open as it has been in recent years, which is making for great entertainment.
