“I think that when you find one of those guys, they’re extremely valuable,” Detroit Lions coach Jim Schwartz said. “The shortest distance to the quarterback is a straight line, and the people that are the closest are the defensive tackles. They can affect the rush.”
While Schwartz didn't mention any names, it is clear he has Nebraska defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh and Oklahoma defensive tackle Gerald McCoy on his mind. It seems to be a foregone conclusion that the Lions will take one of the two big men.
