Is Jerrod Johnson a first round pick?

Dallas Morning News columnist Kevin Sherrington recently wrote about the possibility of Texas A&M quarterback Jerrod Johnson being a first round pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. "Possibly," Sherrington writes, "He's got all the measurables. But I come down on the Pirate's side of this issue: the NFL has no idea what it's doing when it comes to QBs. They don't know how to draft them, and they don't know how to develop them."
Johnson is certainly someone to watch this season. Johnson is not your typical dual-threat quarterback that has trouble throwing the ball. He's thrown for over 6000 yards in his career and completes nearly 60 percent of his passes. And I agree 100 percent on Sherrington's assessment of how how the NFL drafts/develops quarterbacks.
