Clausen's collegiate career got off to a slow start while he struggled through an elbow injury during his freshman campaign. After regaining his arm strength, Clausen was able to show off the skills that made him a highly acclaimed recruit. He has NFL size and puts excellent touch on his balls. Accuracy is his strongest trait. He also has good mechanics and mobility. He doesn't have an over-powering arm, but he is a master at throwing the 30-yard sideline go route. He is a three-year starter with plenty of game day experience.
